Virginia artist, Laura Loe, received her BFA at Louisiana Tech University in 1988. She has continued her education through various studies through the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Studio classes (1992-1996), the Vermont Studio Center (1997), as well as in Florence, Italy, at the II Bisconte Printmaking Studio (1998). Loe's art work has been in solo and group exhibitions throughout Virginia, as well as New Mexico, Tennessee, Maryland and Louisiana. Her work has been recognized in juried exhibitions with awards and honors. She is currently the director of Nimrod Hall Summer Arts Program in Bath County, Virginia.
Whatever I go for in a painting is not what I end up with, but I think that once you believe in your own abilities and in your own hand, you learn to trust the flow of the paint and the end resulting image. Most of the time the painting I end up with is better than the one I envisioned upon starting.
